This class is often the most intimidating for new students and the most necessary and valuable for them over time. This is where the student learns to strike the opponent and deal with being struck by an opponent in a safe, controlled, structured environment. Using proven boxing and kick boxing techniques, this class is the laboratory for all the self-defense techniques learned during group classes. Use of sparring and movement drills refine the defensive stance and movement of the student while any deficiencies in striking and defenses are exposed. Both the drills and the contact made is done in a controlled manner to promote learning and growth by the student. Protective equipment is required for participation in this class. That equipment includes, but is not limited to: 16oz boxing gloves, headgear, mouthpiece, shin guards, and groin protection.
